only that granny is neither what one remembers of her nor a very nice person. The player inherits his grandmother's house (and possibly some money: he drops everything else and comes to the house, in any case) and is slowly but surely pulled into granny's warm embrace. Saving often or working with a walk-through are sensible solutions. It is a technically flawless riddle game (like many rags-games of those years were): very solvable but also quite complicated and somewhat unforgiving for those who choose wrong. I first downloaded and played the game years ago. Grandmother's House is a classic: one of the first games that anonymousman built and which already shows his mastery of the rags-engine that allowed him to build "cursed" way beyond the range of most game builders.
